The Campus

Presently, the campus of the University of Aveiro is a national and international reference in architectural terms and it constitutes a distinctive characteristic of this institution. Here, works of the most revered national architects are referenced and reflect, as a whole, the image of modernity that motivates and identifies the project of the University of Aveiro.

The necessary infra-structures for the development of teaching and investigation activities have been expanding between the center of Aveiro and the Lagoon.

The Campus of Santiago is already linked to the Campus of Agra do Castro by a beautiful bridge over the S. Pedro estuary.

There was always an attention to the valorization of the architectural, natural, and landscape resources (as well as the harmony with the environment in which it is inserted) in the minds of all that have been intervening and fomenting the physical development project of the UA.

With the exception of a mainly residential group of buildings that are dispersed throughout the city, all the other infra-structures of study, investigation, backup, culture, sports, and leisure are concentrated in the roughly 70 hectare-university campus. Thus, it is fair to say that people live in the UA.
